Library Christmas tree.
I would like to present to you…. some facts and science.
I went through all 4 of Taylor Swift’s albums and counted each song as either a breakup song or not a breakup song.
They aren’t all breakup songs. Just 26% of them are.
So I don’t want to hear “taylor swift only has breakup songs”
Breathe, Back to December, and I Almost Do are about break ups as well. But that’s still just 17 and that’s 32.1% if I’m not mistaken with my math skills. Over half of her songs are not break up songs. They are mostly beautiful songs about a girl in love, and there are even a few about growing up, losing a loved one, knowing that things will change.
Breathe isn’t a break up song in the traditional sense. It was written for Emily Poe, her first fiddler, who left the band. It’s about the loss of a friendship.
"I like to flip through old books to see if I can find any handwritten notes. Once I found one with a love note from 1917."
Jim Morrison would have been 70 years old today. Read our 1981 cover story on the legacy of the Lizard King.
